Go-To-Person to Go-eCommerce
I sold my first item in eBay back in 2000. I was immediately addicted when I sold my cross stitch finished pattern.
In 2005, I came back to Kuala Lumpur and helped www.ebay.com.my's community forum and taught the local sellers how to improve their sales via eBay. eBay SEA (South East Asia) then invited me to take part in their Education Specialist Program. I didn't hesitate and changed me immensely. I was always an eBay PowerSeller and occasionally hit their Top Seller Ratings (back then).
I have done a lot of trainings, workshops and provide mentorship programmes nationwide helping women, micro-entrepreneurs and SMEs in teaching them the importance of putting their business online.
In 2013, MPH Publishing Sdn Bhd approached me and invited me to write a guide book called 'MPH Masterclass Series: Carol Fung's Guide to Online Retailing'. The book sold so well, MPH decided to publish the Bahasa Version in 2015.
I joined MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Multimedia Development Corporation), an agency under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) and worked with the eCommerce Division.
This year (2020), I'm still heading a team of 7 people in my unit to lead the SMEs/Sellers into adopting eCommerce.
I am a community builder in the eCommerce ecosystem known as the Go-eCommerce Community in DingTalk.
